About the role:
To support the Section Manager in managing the despatch processes and despatch staff in order to meet Safety, Quality, Training, Productivity and Cost targets set by the Company. To be responsible for the on-going training of all staff including new starters to the section. Hygiene, safety and process control all being priorities. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic refrigerated warehouse environment where hygiene standards are critical.
- Organise and motivate despatch staff to ensure they are working to their full potential and the operation is effectively staffed
- Responsible for ensuring that all staff including new starters are trained and developed appropriately against approved training plans, skilled matrix, SOP’s
- Ensure KPI data is maintained, completed and reported daily
- Escalate issues in a timely way through key personnel
- Ensuring staffing issues are dealt with effectively, consistently and fairly.
- To assist, on occasion and if needed, the general warehouse duties
- To have a full understanding of our Warehouse Management systems
- To ensure the area is controlled, clean and tidy and aligned with our GMP standards
- To be aware of, understand and adhere to health & safety procedures and set standards
- To be aware of, understand and adhere to food hygiene procedures and set standards
- Participate and promote the Avara Vision and Values.
- To comply with and promote all Avara policies and procedures
- Other duties within the general scope of the post may be required from time to time.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
- The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
- Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
- Experience within a warehouse/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
