About the Role:
The role is key in challenging protocol, procedure and operations across all agriculture geographies, chicken and turkey, to identify areas for improvements, driving improved poultry health, welfare and performance and reduce environmental impact.
The role requires travel to our nationwide sites and you would be required to enter and be exposed to the different working environments. As a Technical Field Manager you’ll be working Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 (With the requirement to travel to various Avara sites and to contractors and suppliers).
Although initially a fixed-term contract, this position could provide a pathway to future permanent opportunities for the right candidate.
What will your key responsibilities as Technical Field Manager include?
- Monitor and improve broiler chick outcomes
- Manage the weekly broiler outcomes data and trigger investigations
- Collate investigation findings and deliver learnings and improvements
- Carry out chick start surveys
- Chair the Broiler outcomes meetings
- Water hygiene champion
- Carry out on-farm water hygiene assessments
- Deliver water hygiene workshops
- Monitor and improve broiler reject levels
- Carry out cleaning and disinfectant surveys
- Deliver Future of Welfare and Compliance workshops
- Work alongside broiler CPM team to support farms with welfare KPI’s
- With the support of regional / production managers deliver advice, protocols and procedure, and systems to ensure compliance with those
- Utilise external resource to aid in the delivery of continuous and transformational improvement
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Proven experience within poultry, agriculture, livestock production or a related farming environment.
- Strong understanding of poultry health, welfare, performance and biosecurity requirements.
- Experience of analysing operational performance data, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of farm management practices, water hygiene, cleaning and disinfection standards.
- Experience of investigating performance issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to deliver training, workshops and presentations to a range of audiences.
- Effective stakeholder management skills, working collaboratively with farming partners, farm managers and operational teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a geographically dispersed area.
- Proactive, resilient and self-motivated with the confidence to challenge current practices.
- Results-focused with a strong attention to detail.
